Abstract
Objective To study the relationship between the expression of P16 and cyclin D\-1 and the incidence, development, prognosis of pancreatic carcinoma. Methods The expression of P16 and cyclin D\-1 was studied by immnnohistochemistry streptavidin peroxidase(SP) conjugate and antigen microwave recovery methods in 53 primary pancreatic carcinoma and 42 pancreatic benign lesion and normal tissue. Results (1)The positive rate of P16 protein in pancreatic carcinoma was 66 04%, which is significantly different(P0 05) when compared with the 85 71% positive rate of pancreatic benign lesion and normal tissue. (2)Cyclin D\-1 protein is expressed 52 83% in primary pancreatic carcinoma and 23 81% in pancreatic benign and normal tissue(P0 05). (3)The decreased expression of P16 protein and increased cyclin D\-1 are closely related to tumor differentiation and prognosis. Conclusion The expression of P16 protein and cyclin D\-1 can be used to assess prognosis of pancreatic carcinoma.\;
