Scavenging and Inhibitory Effects of Mongolian Medicine Qiqirigan-5 Extract on Free Radicals

Abstract

Objective To evaluate the scavenging and inhibitory effects of Qiqirigan-5 extract on free radicals.Methods The O-2·,·OH,and LPO formation systems were established,to evaluate the scavenging and inhibitory effects of the extract.Results The scavenging and inhibiting effects of the medicineon free radical O-2 · were 86.0% and 82.9%,respectively;and the rates on ·OH were were 84.1% and 78.9%,respectively.In addition,the medicine also has the above effects on the free radical LPO to some extent.Conclusion Mongolian medicine Qiqirigan-5 has good scavenging and inhibitory effects on free radicals.It is one of good antioxidants.
