Abstract
Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of combination of benazepril and lercanidipine comparing with benazepril only for mild-moderate hypertensive patients. Methods One hundred and one patients with mild-moderate hypertension were included and randomly divided into two group:(A,benazepril 10 mg,lercanidiping 10 mg) and(B,benazepril 10 mg).Dose of benazepril was titrated up to 20 mg/d after 4 weeks of treatment in patients with DBP remaining ≥90 mm Hg.The effective rate, reduction of blood pressure and adverse effects were evaluated at the end of 1,4 and 8 weeks after treatment. Results Ninety-four patients finished the study(forty-six in group A and forty-eight in group B).The baseline characteristics of both groups were not significantly different.Blood pressure(BP) was significant lower compared to pre-treatment BP in both groups at the end of 1,4,and 8 weeks after treatment. The total effective rate of group A and group B at the end of 1,4,and 8 weeks(A vs B)was 67.4% vs 58.3%(P0.05),87.0% vs 64.6%(P0.05)和89.1% vs 67.0%(P0.05).The adverse effects of both groups were not seen different(P 0.05).Conclusion The benazepril-lercanidipine combination is more effective in reducing blood pressure than the benazepril only, while does not increase the incidence of side effects.
