Abstract
The land use data from 1990 to 2005 are the basis of this study. We analyze the change in quantity, utilization, structure, and function of the land use by means of land use model, land use degree model, information entropy and balance degree model. The results show that: the area of forest land, vegetable land, residential land, industrial, and mining land increased dramatically in the past fifteen years;the degree of land use seems to be high;the structure of land use becomes rational and balanced, the difference between functional departments becomes lessened, and the homogeneity of land use structure becomes strengthened.Overall, the process of urbanization of Hebei province has entered a new era of rapid development.
