Change of Regional Land Use and Its Driving Force:A Case Study of Ezhou City,Hubei Province

It is an effective way to reveal global and regional land use change process to study the process,pattern and driving forces of regional land use change.This paper analyzes the general characteristics and driving factors of land use change,land use degree,transformation trend of land use status by means of land use dynamic degree and land use conversion matrix model.The result shows that land use change has been obvious in the past 18 years and the cultivated land has decreased by 28.39%.The reducing cultivated land is mostly transferred to construction land,aquaculture land and forest land.So the growth rate of aquaculture land and construction land is respectively 200.62%and 84.83%,which originated from farmland and water area.The main driving forces are population growth,economy growth,policy of government,urban planning and the improvement of people's living standards.
