Abstract
Objective To detect the expression of surviving and Protein-53 (P-53) in tissues of gastric cancer patients and its relationship with pathogenic parameters of gastric cancer. Methods The expression of survivin and P-53 in gastric and mucous tissues of 60 gastric cancer patients and 7 normal subjects was determined by immunohistochemistry. Results Survivin and P53 was not expressed in 7 normal subjects. Survivin was expressed in 34 of the 60 cancer patients with ad positive rate of 56.7% and P-53 was expressed in 39 of the 60 cancer patients with a positive rate of 65.0%, showing significant difference (P0.05). The expression of surviving was associated with the histological grading of gastric cancer tissue, lymphatic node metastasis and TNM phasing (P0.05). The expression of surviving was significantly correlated with the expression of P-53 (P0.05). Conclusion The increased expression of survivin in gastric cancer tissue is associated with the genesis of gastric cancer. The inactivation of P-53 will remove the inhibition of surviving, then give rise to the excessive expression of surviving.
