Abstract

Objective To observe the efficacy of aerosol inhalation of budesonide suspension in treating children with acute laryngitis. Methods Eighty-two children with acute laryngitis were randomly divided into two groups: group 1 and group 2.Forty-two patients in group 1 were treated with aerosol inhalation of budesonide(1.0 mg,2 mL) via air compressor pump for 10-15 min, three times a day for three days;and those in group 2 with intravenous administration of hexadecadrol 0.2-0.3 mg/(kg·d) for three days served as control. Results The efficacy of aerosol inhalation of budesonide suspension in group 1 was significantly different from that of group 2(uc=2.79,P0.01).Conclusion Aerosol inhalation of budesonide suspension is effective for children with cute laryngitis.
