Abstract

Objective To study the effect of “Tang Shen Ning” on lipidic metabolism and oxygen-derived free radicals in rat model of diabetic nephropathy. Methods Male Wistar rats were randomly divided into the normal group(fed with normal diet)and model group(fed with high caloric diet).Ten weeks later intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin(STZ) was applied, and a week later, the model group rats were randomly divided into pathologic group,Monopril group and TSNR group according to the 24hU-A1b.Each group’s 24Hu-A1b、TC、TG、HDL、LDL、FBS、FINS、ISI and SOD、MDA、NEFA in the rat’s renal tissue were determined. Results The levels of FBS、FINS、24h U-A1b、TG 、LDL、MDA、NEFA in TSNP group were significantly lower than those in pathologic group, and SOD、ISI increased obviously. There are significant differences in TC and SOD between control group and treatment group. Conclusion The results indicate that “Tang Shen Ning” can lower the micro-albuminuria in DN rats, the mechanism of which probably lies in the modification of glycol metabolism, increasing the ISI,and reducing blood lipids.
