Observation on clinical effect of moxifloxacin sequential therapy in treatment of patients with lower respiratory tract infection

Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of moxifloxacin sequential therapy in treatment of patients with lower respiratory tract infection.Methods One hundred and six cases of lower respiratory tract infection were randomly divided into observation group and control group.53 cases in observation group were treated with moxifloxacin sequential therapy,and 53 cases in control group were administrated with levofloxacin sequential therapy.The clinical efficacy,bacterial clearance rate and adverse reactions were compared.Results The total effective rates in observation group and control group were 96.2% and 92.5% respectively,their difference was not significant(P0.05).Bacteria-positive rate in observation group was 90.6%(48/53) and bacterial clearance rate was 95.8%(46/48),the bacteria-positive rate in control group was 88.7%(47/53),and bacterial clearance rate was 83.0%(39/47).The bacterial clearance rate in observation group was significantly higher than that of control group,the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).In drug sensitivity test,the sensitive rate of moxifloxacin was 95.4%(83/87),the sensitive rate of levofloxacin was 86.2%(75/87),and their difference was statistically significant(P0.05).The main adverse reactions were nausea,loss of appetite and diarrhea.The incidence rates of adverse reactions in observation group and control group were 3.8% and 5.7% respectively,the difference was not statistically significant(P0.05),and there was no other serious adverse reactions.Conclusion The moxifloxacin sequential therapy is an ideal method for treatment of patients with lower respiratory tract infection with less side effects.
