Abstract
Objective:To investigate the indication of cesarean section in fetal distress and to reduce the newborns asphyxia rate and perinatal mortality rate.Methods:Cesarean section performed in 165 patients with fetal distress was analyzed.According to the abnormalities of fetal heart monitoring and amniotic fluid,165 patients were categorized into 3 groups.Factors associated with fetal distress by findings during operation and Apgar score of newborns were evaluated respectively.Results:The low Apgar score(≤7) rate of newborns was 6.45%,27.27%,and 5.71% in Group I,Ⅱ,and ⅡI respectively.The differences between Group Ⅱ and the other two groups were significant.Conclusions:Hypoxia/underlying hypoxia most likely exists in cases complicated with both abnormalities of fetal heart rate and contaminated amniotic fluid.Therefore rapid delivery should be the best choice.Under close observation and monitoring,pregnancy and trial labor might continue in cases with abnormal fetal heart rate or contaminated amniotic fluid alone except in cases complicated with other high risk factors.
