Abstract

Objective To explore the value of CT examination in treating pancreatic carcinoma. Methods The relationship of CT examination and the detection rates of 50 cases of CT examination and the detection rates of 50 cases of pancreatic carcinoma confirmed pathologically was analyzed through restrospectively studying the CT expressions and clinical symptoms. Results Among the 50 cases of pancreatic cancers,36(76%) occurred in the head of pancrea,12 cases (24%) in its body and 2 case (4%) in its tail. The size of tumors ranged from 2.7~15cm in diameter.18 cases had their diameters shorter than 3cm,of whilch 6 cases belonged to cystadenocarcioma.Preoperative evaluation suggested that 20 cases should recive resection, and 12 cased might receive removal.15 cases received removal in hospital, about 46.9% of the whole cases evaluated preoperatively. Conclusion Enlargement of pancreas and their inhomogeneous density and irregular contour of the uncinate process are the direct clinical signs of pancreatic carcinoma.Dilated bile duct and pancreatic duct may also suggest the occurrence of pancreatic carcinoma.CT contrast scanning can accurately show the eroded blood vessels. The changes in organs and blood vessels around pancreas have somewhat direction for the selections of operations.
