Abstract

Objective To compare the clinical efficacy of minimal(F16) and standard(F24) percutaneous nephrolithotomy. Methods The data of 284 patients with urinary calculi were retrospectively reviewed.Of all the patients,136 received minimally invasive percutaneous nephrolithotomy(MPCNL),and the other 148 cases were treated with standard percutaneous nephrolithotomy. The operation time, total operative blood loss, postoperative hospital stay, morbidity, and calculus clearance rate 3 months postoperatively were compared between the two groups were compared. Results The operation time of MPCNL was longer than that of the standard procedure(P=0.03).However,there was no significant difference between the two groups in total operative blood loss, postoperative hospital stay, complications rate and stone free rate. Conclusions Both MPCNL and standard percutaneous nephrolithotomy have the advantages of shorter hospital stay, quick recovery, higher stone clearance rate and fewer complications.
