Abstract

Objective To observe the efficacy of S-adenosyl-methionin(SAMe) on severe intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy(ICP).Methods Sixty-nine severe ICP patients were divided into two groups of treatment(group A,33 cases) and control(group B,36 cases). The patients in group A were treated with SAMe.Total bilirubin(TB),alanine transaminase(ALT),cholyglycine(CG) and differences of perinatal outcomes were compared. Results TB,ALT and CG before treatment were(18.45±20.14)mol/L,(166.40±166.59)U/L and(42.33±23.93)mg/L,which were significantly higher than(11.62±8.86)mol/L,(47.78±39.47)U/L and(16.13±10.63)mg/L after treatment(P0.05).After treatment,ALT and CG of group A were significantly lower than (95.50±97.89)U/L and(32.66±28.65)mg/L of group B(P0.05).The rates of preterm birth, neonatal asphyxia and perinatal infants mortality were less in group A than those in group B(P0.05).ConclusionSAMe is effective and safe in the treatment of severe ICP with improved perinatal outcomes.
