Abstract
In the medium of 0.36 mol/L nitric acid,bismuth? can form a blue complex with DBC-chlorophosphonazo. The maximum absorption wavelength is at 638 nm and the apparent molar absorptivity is (638)=4.6610~4Lmol~(-1)cm~(-1). The molar ratio of bismuth to reagent in the complex is 12. Beer's law is obeyed in the range of 0-30 g/25 mL for bismuth.The method has been used for the determination of bismuth in water samples with satisfactory results.
