Abstract

Objective To study the therapeutic effect of α-2b interferon(IFN-α-2b) treating chronic hepatitis B(CHB).Methods One hundred and forty CHB cases were divided into 2 groups: 83 cases in IFN-α-2b treatment group, and 40 cases in liver-protective group. The liver function, change of hepatitis B virus marker and side-effects of α-2b interferon were observed. Results In the treatment group, the complete response rate, the ALT recovery rate,HBeAg negative rate and HBV-DNA negative rate were significantly higher than those in liver-protective group at the end of the treatment. In the treatment group, better therapeutic effect revealed in higher ALT Level and HBV-DNA≤106 copies/mL before treatment. The therapeutic effect might correlate with gender and age.The side-effects of IFN-α-2b could recover quickly without special treatment. Conclusion IFN-α-2b may inhibit the replication of HBV,improve liver functions, and speed the spontaneous seroconvesrsion of HBeAg and HBV-DNA,and is one of the effective and safety medicines for treating CHB.
