The Lipid-regulating Effects of Domestic Simvastatin in Patients with Primary Hyperlipidemia

Objective To investigate the effects of domestic simvastatin on lipid metabolism in patients with primary hyperlipidemia.Methods Sixty and 64 patients with primary hyperlipidemia were randomly assigned into domestic simvastatin group (n=60) and imported simvastatin group (n=64) by lots-drawing.They were given domestic and imported simvastatin respectively,10mg,qd for 8weeks.Serum level of total cholesterol (TC),triglyceride (TG),hydensity lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) were measured at the ends of 4 and 8 weeks of the trial period.Results Four and 8 weeks after administration of domestic simvastatin,TC was decreased by 23.4% and 28.9%,TG was decreased by 21.5% and 29.4%,HDL-C was increased by 11.8% and 15.7%.No difference was obsereved between the effects of the domestic and imported simvastatin on lipid metabolism in parients with primary hyperlipidemia.Conclusion Domestic simvastatin has satisfactory lipid-regulating effects similar to those of imported simvastatin.
