Abstract
Objective To investigate the TGF-β1 levels in rats with pancreatic fibrosis treated with emodin. Methods Pancreatic fibrosis was induced by infusion of trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid (TNBS) into the pancreatic duct of rats. In emodin group he rats were fed with different doses of emodin (20, 40 and 80mg/kg body weight) , while in control group the rats received 0.9% sodium chloride solution. The tissue contents of TGF-β1 were measured by Western blotting and immunochemistry. Results Compare with control group, the emodin groups showed lower expression of TGF-β1, especially in high dose emodin group. Conclusion The anti-fibrosis effect of modin may be related to the TGF-β1.
