Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To investigate the application status of antibiotics in a hospital and the problems involved so as to provide reference for the making of comprehensive plan for rational use of antibiotics.METHODS: 300 case histories of the patients who had been discharged from hospital were sampled randomly for analysis of rational use of antibiotics.RESULTS: Antibiotics were administered in 261 cases(87.0%),of which,106(40.61%) used antibiotics for preventive purpose,155 cases(59.39%) for therapeutic purpose.102 of the 155 therapeutic cases(65.80%) received hemogram test, and only 11(7.10%) received pathogenic test,of the 11 cases,7(63.64%) showed positive pathological results. In the use of antibiotics,221 cases(84.67%) had combined use antibiotics, and the combinations of 2,3,4 kinds of drugs were noted in 120,80,21 cases, respectively, accounting for 54.30%,36.20% and 9.50%,respectively.All of the 160 surgery cases received antibiotics.Antibiotics were applied rationally in 84 cases(32.18%) versus irrationally in 177(67.82%).CONCLUSION: The irrational utilization of antibiotics is common in our hospital.Great importance should be given to the management and control on the rational use of antibiotics so as to improve clinical rational use of antibiotics.
