Abstract

Objective To investigate the correlation between serum levels of adiponectin and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP) in patients with coronary heart disease(CHD).Methods Serum levels of adiponectin and hs-CRP were analyzed in 83 patients with clinically suspected CHD.All of them received coronary angiography. They were divided into 3 groups according to coronary angiography results, clinical manifestations and myocardial enzyme:the control group(18 patients),stable angina pectoris(SAP) group(21 patients),acute coronary syndrome(ACS) group(44 patients). Results The logarithm levels of serum adiponectin in ACS group were lower than those in the control group and SAP group(P0.05).The levels of serum hs-CRP in patients with ACS were remarkably higher than those in the other two groups(P0.05).Linear correlation analysis revealed that the logarithm level of serum adiponectin was negatively correlated with that of serum hs-CRP(r=-0.25,P0.05).Conclusion The interaction between serum levels of adiponectin and hs-CRP may play an important role in the development of CHD.
