Abstract
In order to know the germicidal efficacy and physicochemical properties of triclosan disinfection gel containing alcohol, carrier quantitative germicidal test and physicochemical analysis method were used to carry out laboratory and field experimental observation. Results: The killing logarithm values of Staphylococcus aureus,Pseudomonas aeruginosa,Escherichia coli and Candida albicans on cloth strips exposed to the disinfection gel composed of 1.55%(m/m) triclosan and 39.6% ethanol(pH 6.67) for 0.5 min were 5.00.The killing logarithm values of S.aureus and C.albicans exposed to the disinfection gel double diluted with standard hard water for 1.0 min were 3.40 and 2.75 respectively. The killing logarithm value of the natural bacteria on skin of hands of volunteers after wiping disinfection of their forearms and hands with the stock solution of the disinfection gel for 1.0 min was 1.00.After the disinfection gel in original packing was stored at constant termperature of 37℃ for 3 months, the contents of its active principles triclosan and ethanol decreased by 1.94% and 1.01% respectively. Conclusions: Triclosan alcohol disinfection gel has rapid efficacy in killing vegetative forms of bacteria and fungi. Its efficacy in killing natural bacteria on skin of hands of volunteers fulfils the requirement of eligible disinfection. It is stable on storing.
