Observation of root canal filling with Cortisomol

Abstract

Objective To observe the curative effects of root canal therapy with two kinds of materias,cortisomol and ZOE. Methods The experiment group (Cortisomol group) including 126 teeth of 112 patients and the control group (ZOE group)including 72 teeth of 68 patients were assigned randomly. After general canal preparation, the experiment group was filled with Cortisomal and the control group was filled with ZOE. Results In 31.7% of the teeth of experiment group, pain did not appear.About 80.2% of the teeth of experiment group thoroughly ceased aching within two days, and 97.6% within four days. The occurence rate of pain in the experiment group was lower than that of the control group. The time of pain in the experiment group was shorter than that of the control group. Conclusion The Cortisomol is a relatively ideal material for root canal therapy.
