Short-term observation of root canal filling with cortisomol

Objective To observe the curat ive effects of root canal therapy with two kinds of materias i.e cortisomol and ZOE. Methods The experiment group (Cortisom ol group) including 70 teeth of 62 patients and the control group (ZOE gro up) including 40 teeth of 38 patients were assigned randomly.After general cana l preparation,the experiment group was filled with Cortisomal and the control g roup was filled with ZOE. Results In 31.4 % of the teeth o f experiment group,pain did not appear. About 80.0% of the teeth of experimen t group thoroughly ceased aching within two days,and 97.1% within four days. The occurence rate of pain in the experiment group was lower than that of the control group. The time of pai n in the experiment group was shorter than that of the control group. Conclusion The cortisomol is a relatively id eal material for root canal therapy.
