An Examination of the Relationship Between the Rich People and Poetry in the Northern Song Dynasty

In the early and intermediate stages of the Northern Song Dynasty,the rich stratum underwent rapid development in the new economical and political background. Some characteristics of this stratum determined that they demand poetic consumption. Meanwhile,their mental requirement and group mindset played an important role in the development of poetry and ci-poetry. To meet the needs of this wealthy class,some poetry began to take on some fixed artistic characteristics.
