Abstract
Objective To study the probable function of serum total bile acid in diagnosis of hepatitis.Method The contents of total serum bile acid were detected in 92 cases of acute and chronic hepatitis confirmed by needle biopsy, being compared with alanine transaminase and total bilirubin. Results TBA had significant different between acute and chronic group and normal group ( P 0.001).The abnormal rate of TBA had no significant difference in mild, moderate, severe hepatitis. Conclusion TBA detection was high sensitive as well as ALT in acute hepatitis. In chronic hepatitis, the sensitive of TBA detection was very higher than those of ALT and Tbil detection. But it couldn't reflect exactly the cxtent of eepatitis.
