Abstract

Objective To study the expresions of p16、p53 and CD 44 V 6 in gastric cancer and their significances to pathogenesis, infiltration and lymphnode metastasis of this cancer. Methods 93 cases of gastric cancer were detected by using ABC immunohistochemical technique. Results The positive rates of these three expression products were as follows:39.8%(p16),50.5%(p53) and 41.9%(CD 44 V 6).p16 protein expression was correlated with lymphnode metastasis;p53 and CD 44 V 6 expressions were correlated with both clinical staging and lymphnode metastasis. Conclusions p16 protein negative expression is significantly related to the lymphnode metastasis of gastric cancer. The over expression of p53 and CD 44 V 6 may play an important role in predicting the biological behavior and prognosis of gastric cancer.
