Abstract
Objective To investigate the value of magnetic susceptibility weighted imaging(SWI) in the diagnosis of diffuse axonal injury(DAI). Methods MRI examination was performed in 25 cases diagnosed or highly suspected as DTI,in whom the DAI location was untypical or CT imaging was normal. The patients underwent SWI at first and routine magnetic resonance(MR)(T2WI,T1WI,DWI or FLAIR T2WI) scanning was performed thenafter. The characteristics of SWI were analyzed and compared with those of routine MR imaging. The detection rates of TAD in SWI sequence and normal MR sequence were calculated. Rusults The DAI detection of SWI is significantly higher than that of routine MR. Conclusion SWI can improve the detection rate of DAI lesions and provide more image evidences for early clinical diagnosis of DAI.
