Abstract

This paper is aimed specifically at moisture damage issue of asphalt pavement, and the(axis-symmetric) finite element method is adopted to analyze the variations of interbedded pore water pressure of(asphalt) pavement under different load condition. The study results revealed that pore water pressure erodes away the pavement, induces stripping of the asphalt from aggregate and causes moisture damage to the asphalt pavement, and over-load advances the course.
