Abstract
Concentration and distribution of 8 kinds of heavy metals in the surface sediments of Xinghua Bay,Fujian Province were analyzed, and results showed that heavy metals pollution in sediments were light, with pollution degrees in the sequence of the most polluted in seawater interjunction of inside and outside bay, then goes with bayou, basin and open bay.Compared with heavy metals concentration in previous years, the concentration of Pb and Zn had obviously decreased, which indicated that the majority of heavy metal pollution is in a certain degree of control. Results of potential ecological risk assessment showed that the ecological risk level of heavy metals in the Bay surface sediments is still low.
