Clinical Significance of Detection of β_2-microglobulinin Patients with Malignant Tumor

To explore the clinical value of detection of serum level of β2-MG in malignant tumor,the serum levels of β2-MG in 1800 patients with malignant tumor,120 patients with benign tumor and 100 healthy controls were measured by a transmission turbidmetic immunoassay.The results showed that the serum levels of β2-MG in patients with malignant tumor were significantly different with that of healthy controls(P0.05),and there was no significant difference between patients with benign tumor and healthy controls(P0.05).The serum β2-MG levels in patient with mammary cancer have no statistics significance compared with patients with benign tumor(P0.05).The serum β2-MG levels in patients with kidney cancer,prostate cancer and ovarian cancer were significant different compared with patients with benign tumor(P0.05).The serum β2-MG level may be helpful in identification of patients with benign or malignant tumor except mammary cancer.
