Abstract

[Objective] To explore the significanc of serum hs-CRP in patients with malignant tumor. [Methods] Serum hs-CRP in 253 patients with malignant tumor, 99 patients with benign tumor, 92 patients with inflammatory mass and 200 healthy people were evaluated by turbidimetric method based on the peak rate principle. [Results] The level of serum hs-CRP in patients with inflammatory mass or malignant tumor were significantly higher than that in patients with benign tumor or normal control (P 0.01), and hs-CRP in inflammatory mass group was higher than that in malignant tumor (P 0.01). There was no difference between benign tumor group and normal control (P 0.05). [Conclusion] The elevation of serum hs-CRP suggests the possibility of malignant tumor when inflammation, trauma and other disease which can cause the elevation of CRP. It′s useful in the diagnosis and progression of malignant tumor.
