Abstract
Objective:To explore maternal and fetal impact in variant level of serum bile acids in patients of intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP). Methods:Serum concentration of bile acids in patiens of ICP ( n =120) was assayed and divide them into three groups according to their degree. The complications and fetal outcomes in each group were analysed. Results: ①Serum ALT ( P 0.05) and serum TBIL ( P 0.01)were significantly higher along with the increased serum bile acids. ②The higher the serum concentration of bile acids the more severe fetal outcomes and complications of pregnancy were. Conclusions:①Serum concentration of bile acids is not only the most sensitive and specific standard for diagnosis of ICP, but also a finding to predict maternal and fetal impact. ②As the serum concentration of bile acids increased,ICP patients would have higher frequency of fetal distress, preterm labor, cesarean section, unexplained fetal death and the mothernal complications as well.
