Abstract
OBJECTIVE To establish a non-aqueous capillary electrophoresis method for the separation and determination of palmatine and jatrorrhizine in Tinospora capillipes Gagn.from different original area.METHODS An uncoated fused-silica capillary(50.0 cm×75 μm) was used for separation in this study. The mobile phase consisted of 75 mmol·L-1 ammonium acetate-0.1% acetic acid in methanol. The applied voltage was 15 kV,and the column temperature was maintained at 25 ℃.The chromatogram was detected at 265 nm.RESULTS The linearities were obtained over the range of 1.99~99.5 mg·L-1 for palmatine, and the range of 2.26~113 mg·L-1 for jutrorrhizine. The average recoveries were 101.9% for palmatine, and 100.9% for jatrorrhizine, respectively.CONCLUSION This method is simple, rapid and reproducible, and it is successfully employed for the determination of palmatine and jatrorrhizine in T.capillipes Gagn.and other Chinese herbs containing these alkaloids.
