Abstract

Treated with anti-microtubule drugs—amiprophos-methyl, the effect of cortical microtubules disassembly on the ultrastructure of cucumber young leaf cells was investigated by transmission electron microscope in this paper. The results were as follows:treated with 15×10 ˉ6 APM, the growth of cucumber seedling was inhibited. Following the time, the ultrastructure showed that intercellular spaces became larger, vacuoles were separated, chloroplasts deformed and moved to the central section of the cell, and starch grains in chloroplasts almost disappeared. These results suggested that the changes of cell ultrastructure might be produced by the microtubules disassembly .
