A comparative study of efficacy of duloxetine and venlafaxine of treating somatoform disorder

Objective Duloxetine is comparable with venlafaxine in the efficacy and safety of treating somatoform disorder.Methods The 137 somatoform disorder patients are divided into the two parts which are 69 venlafaxine patients and 68 duloxetine patients,treating for 6 weeks.Using the HAMD and SCL-90 evaluates the clinical curative effect,and using TESS evaluates the untoward effect.Results Behind the 2nd week,effective percentage of using venlafaxine to treat patient is 53.62%,and effective percentage of using duloxetine is 29.41%,so venlafaxine is better than duloxetine in the efficacy and safety of treating somatoform disord.The result has very most notable difference(P0.01);but in the fourth and sixth,effective percentage of using venlafaxine is 78.26% and 85.50%,and effective percentage of using duloxetine is 79.14% and 86.71%.The result has no notable difference(P0.05).The untoward effect which venlafaxine results in ncluding raising blood pressure,increaing sleep time,yawning,being tired and so on is very outstanding.Conclusion They are equivalent in the efficacy of treating somatoform disorder.Venlafaxine works faster and the untoward effect of duloxetine is lighter.
