Abstract

This paper deals with a new species Apanteles pellucipterus Song et Chen,sp.nov. of the genus Apanteles (s.l.) Foerster from Fujian Province of China. The type specimen is deposited in the Benificial Insects Laboratory, College of Plant Protection,Fujian Agriculture Forestry University,China. Apanteles pellucipterus Song et Chen, sp. nov.(Figs.1~4) The new species belongs to ater group,and is similar to Apanteles salutifer Wilkinson from which it is distinguished by the following features: Apanteles pellucipterus Song et Chen ,sp.nov. Apanteles salutifer Wilkinson. 1.costula of propodeum normal and complete; 1.costula of propodeum weakly defined complete; and usually broken; 2.ovipositor sheath equal to the hind tibia; 2.ovipositor sheath 1.3 times as long as hind tibia; 3.face weakly striate punctate; 3.face very distinctly punctate; 4.segment 4 of the hind tarsus, measured below, equal to segment 5; 4.segment 4 of the hind tarsus, measured below, distinctly shorter than segment 5.
