Abstract
Objective To study clinical significance of α-granule membrane protein(GMP-140)and mean platelet volume(MPV)in patients with ulcerative colitis(UC). Methods The level of GMP-140 and MPV were measured in 32 patients with active UC ,25 patients with remissive UC and 30 normal controls by ELISA technique respectively. Results The level of GMP-140 and MPV in patients with active UC as well as in patients with remissive UC were increased significantly higher than those of the normal controls (P0.01, and P0.05). The levels of them had a correlation with the activity and severities of UC. Conclusion The activated small volume platelets is a character of UC. The level of GMP-140 and MPV are valuable indexes in the evaluation of activity and severities of UC.
