Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the use of antihypertensive drugs in our hospital from 2010 to 2012 so as to provide references for clinical rational use and purchase of antihypertensive drugs. METHODS: The consumption data of anti-hypertensive drugs in our hospital from 2010 to 2012 were analyzed statistically with regard to consumption sum, DDDs,defined daily cost( DDC) and drug utilization index( DUI). RESULTS: The antihypertensive drugs in our hospital were rich in varieties and low in cost with continuous increasing in consumption sum. Calcium channel blockers( CCB) took the first place in both consumption sum and DDDs and Nifedipine Sustained-Release or Controlled-Release Tablets( single variety) the second place in DDDs. CONCLUSION: The use of antihypertensive drugs in our hospital was basically reasonable and in line with the practical situation of local residents.
