Determination of oleanolic acid and ursolic acid in Weiyanting capsules by HPLC

Abstract

OBJECTIVE To establish a method for determination of oleanolic acid and ursolic acid in Weiyanting capsules by HPLC.METHODS In the method SB-C 18 column as the stationary phase,methanol:water (85∶15) as mobile phase. the wavelength of detection was 220 nm.RESULTS The linear rang of oleanolic acid was 0.36 ～ 1.80 μg ( r = 0.9998 ),the content of oleanolic acid in samples was 3.68% (mg/g),the recovery was 97.40% with RSD 2.10% (n=5);The linear range of ursolic acid was 0.36 ug ～ 1.44 ug ( r = 0.9980 ),the content of ursolic acid in samples was 6.49% (mg/g),the recovery was 101.21% with RSD 2.40% ( n =5).CONCLUSIONS This method was proved to be simple, accurate and reliable.
