Abstract

Objective To observe the histological changes of tonifying kidney recipe and aminoguanidine in experimental diabetes periodontitis in rats.MethodsOne hundred and twenty female SD rats were randomly divided into four groups of thirty in each(the diabetes periodontitis group, the aminoguanidine group, the Chinese herbal group and the control group). The diabetes periodontitis model were made, and the sample were collected for histological observation at the 1st,2nd,3rd months after medicine administration.ResultsNo pathological changes occurred in periodontal tissue of the control group.Scorching cells in gingival proper layer were increased, and there were absorption of the alveolar bone and some osteoclasts in the diabetes periodontitis group at the 1st months, and absorption of the alveolar bone was obvious at the 3rd months. The periodontal inflammation in the Chinese herbal group and the aminoguanidine group was significantly slighter than that in the diabetes periodontitis group. There were less osteoclasts and more osteoblasts in the Chinese herbal group and the aminoguanidine group(P0.05).ConclusionTonifying kidney recipe and aminoguanidine have inhibiting effect on experimental diabetes periodontitis in rats by reducing inflammation in periodontal tissue and have prohibited the alveolar bone loss.
