Abstract

[Objective] To understand the positive rate of sputum smear for the cases in close contact with smear positive TB patients,in order to diagnose more TB patients.[Methods]Data of sputum smear tested for the persons in close contact with smear positive TB patients in families and schools reported from CDC in this district from 2007-2009 were analyzed.[Results]Of the 4 828 persons in close contact with 561 smear positive TB patients,48 of them were smear positive, accounting for 0.99%.The positive rate was 1.20% for school students and 0.58% for family members(P0.05).It was 0.92%,0.90% and 1.14% respectively from 2007-2009(P0.05).It was 1.20%,0.47% and 0.83% respectively in persons aged under 21,21-50 and 51-72 respectively(P0.05).[Conclusion]The detection rate was higher in persons especially in students in close contact with smear positive TB student patients.
