Abstract

As urbanization and motorization are developing rapidly, the phenomena of traffic congestion becomes more and more serious.Giving priority to the development of urban public transport and improving the proportion of bus trips will help to alleviate urban traffic pressure.Providing reserved public transportation lane is an effective measure to implement public transportation priority.Bus lanes with intermittent priority(BLIPS)is a new way of setting bus lanes, which allows the community to use the lane without bus. This paper introduced the setting principles of the bus lanes with intermittent priority, evaluated the improvement of traffic conditions by setting of BLIPS and proposed the calculation methods of traffic benefits.
