Abstract

Objective To investigate the bacterial agents distribution and drug-resistance pattern and to provide guideline for clinical practice. Method Bacterial pathogens were identified and detected by Microscan Autoscan4 and in vitro antibiotic resistance of all these isolates from our hospital were studied. Results A total of 864 bacterial isolates were identified from January 2005 to December 2005,among them 557 were Gram-positive and 307 were Gram-negative.Coagulase negative Staphylococcus,Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococci species accounted for 74.85%,22.44% and(2.7%),and Escherichia coli,Klebisella pneumoniae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa accounted for 35.83%,26.05%,and 14% for the Gram positive and Gram negative agents respectively. The positive rate of ESBLs-producing strains for E coli and K.pneumoniae were 39.1% and 43.6% respectively. Conclusions The pathogens in our hospital are Gram-positive strains predominant, and show significant drug resistance;antibiotic therapy should pay more attention to this condition.
