Abstract
Aim To evaluate the status of platelet activation in patients with coronary heart disease(CHD). Methods One hundred and thirteen(CHD)patients and 37 normal subjects were studied. Activated platelet markers including three membrane glycoproteins(MGP)CD63, CD62p and thrombospondin(TSD) were fluorescently labled with their corresponding monoclonal antibodies(mAb) and analyzed by flow cytometry(FCM). Results The positive rates of the three membrane glycoprotein expressions in CHD patients were significantly higher than those in control group(5.3±4.0)%,(5.8±3.3)%and(4.7±3.7)%vs(1.0±0.6)%,(1.4±0.5)%and (1.6±0.6)%,(P0.01). Expressions of these membrane glycoproteins on activated platelets were observed to have some relation to disease severity, but without significant difference sfafisfically. FCM was a technique of detecting platelet activation, possessed rapidity reliability, high sensitivity and specificity in evaluating platelet functions of the CHD patients. Concluslon The above results may provide useful data for the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of thrombus diseases.
