Abstract

OBJECTIVE:To conduct sample analysis on the outpatient prescriptions in General Hospital of Jinan Military Region of PLA between Aug.2010 and Jul.2011 and to probe into the irrational use of drugs in the outpatient department and propose countermeasures.METHODS: The sample prescriptions were reviewed retrospectively one by one and analyzed statistically.RESULTS: 588(12.30%) were irrational prescriptions.The irrationality manifested as overprescription,repeated medication,irrational drug combination,improper administration,and non-indication drug use etc.CONCLUSION: Effective measures such as strengthening publicizing and management,formulating relevant regulations and system,enhancing training on rational drug use knowledge and promoting the communication between pharmacists and physicians etc should be taken aimed at the problems encountered in drug use.
