Evaluation method of university intellectual capital and empirical study

In the era of knowledge-based economy, intellectual capital has become the core competence of universities. However, little research was observed on the evaluation of university intellectual capital. In this study, the index system was developed based on expert opinions, and principal component analysis of factors targeting drawing method were used for evaluating university intellectual capital. Furthermore, an empirical study was performed using the statistic data of a university in Shanghai. The results proved that the established index system and evaluating method are effective. This study is helpful for the transfer of the research of intellectual capital into universities and promotes the development of high education.
