Study on coping style of nurses and its influence analysis of demography variables

Objective: To explore the status of coping style of nurses and its influencing factors,so as to provide reference for nursing managers. Methods: Simple Coping Style Questionnaire (SCSQ) were used to survey 280 nurses in one general hospital of Hengyang in province. Results: The positive coping style scores of nurses were higher than that in norm (P0.01), and their negative coping style scores were lower than that in norm(P0.01). The demographic influencing factors that affect the positive coping were position, education level and age. And the factors that affect the negative coping were age and position. Conclusion: The coping style of nurses was satisfactory, but the coping ability should be strengthened,especially for young nurses,and low education level of nurses,as well as the general nurses.
