Abstract

Yuan Shikai,a controversial historical figure in Chinese modern history,advocated(abolishing) imperial examination system,initiated the new-type school education and set up the structure of(local) education in the latter stage of Qing Dynasty.He took advantage of his social status and played an important role in causing the education to break away from the old track, which benefited the progress of society and the modernization of education.
