Abstract

Genomic DNA from the roots, leaves and flowers of Phalaenopsis hybrid was extracted by CTAB(Cetyl-trimethyl Ammonium Bromide) method. The results of DNA quality detection by agarose gel electrophoresis and ultraviolet spectrophotometry had shown that intact genomic DNA could be acquired from the three parts of the flower, but the DNA purity was not ideal for strict molecular biological experiments. The ratio of OD260 and OD280 ranged from 1.38 to 1.65.The DNA from roots had relatively the highest quality, with OD260/OD280 of 1.654 5,followed by the DNA from leaves, with OD260/OD280 of 1.535 1.The DNA from flowers had the lowest quality, with OD260/OD280 of 1.3820.
