Abstract

A metonymy involves a conceptual mapping within the same cognitive domain from the perspective of cognitive linguistics.The large amount of metonymy mapping in language is in fact the embodiment and reflection of conceptual metonymy.Conceptual metonymy is human beings' fundamental cognitive style.Semantic frame is the cognitive foundation of conceptual metonymy.Conceptual metonymy exists not only in a typical frame,but also in relevant with two or different semantic frames with various modes mapping in the frames.
