Close and Warm Needling plus Pricking-cupping therapy for Treating Knee Osteoarthritis

Abstract

Objective To investigate the efficacy of close and warm needling plus pricking-cupping treatment for knee osteoarthritis.Methods In total of 130 patients with knee osteoarthritis were randomized into a treatment group(68 cases) and a control group(62 cases) by using random number table.The treatment group received close and warm needling plus pricking-cupping bloodletting,and the control was treated by warm needling only.The therapeutic effects were evaluated after two treatment courses.Result The total effective rate was 92.6% in the treatment group versus 80.6% in the control,and the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).Conclusion Close and warm needling plus pricking-cupping bloodletting therapy is an effective way in treating knee osteoarthritis.
